My background is in graphic design, and as a VW enthusiast, not VW historian or technical expert, so I'll report as the former. Beautiful publication, nicely laid out, good mix of text, vintage photos and modern preservation examples. Plenty of interesting info, while maintaining readability. Pictures make me drool and wish for a time machine. I own both this and Transporter book, and both are highly recommended from my perspective.
Beautiful photos and extremely detail oriented. I bought this for my grandfather who is a VW fanatic. This book is a must have in the library for anyone who loves VW!

This is a very nice book about the VW beetle. It provides a lot of detailed information about the history of the car. The book is well illustrated.

Perfect father's day gift, he loved it. Book was in excellent shape and took hardly any time at all to get here.
Nostalgia may color my response to this book, as I owned three Beetles earlier in my life, buying each near the end of its useful service.The book brings back those memories and fills in my knowledge of this amazing automobile. Copping's narrative answers most of the questions a tech geek would ask, but the photos really make the book. Every page carries at least one picture, usually more. The photos (in color and black & white) are sharp, beautifully composed, completely capture the attention, and tell the story of the Beetle.I cannot imagine a more uplifting, charming and engaging book about a car.
